Society's magazine makes UK top 25
31st August 2012
benhealth, the magazine for members of Benenden Healthcare Society, is now positioned at 22nd in the list of most widely distributed magazines in the UK, as certified by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) – a move up from number 34 in 2011.
The quarterly title is now positioned above the likes of OK, Hello, Cosmopolitan and Woman & Home. Benenden Healthcare, a leading mutual health and wellbeing organisation, distributes benhealth four times a year to a total of 356,089 members, with an additional 29,000 members opting to read it in digital format.
Karin Mochan, benhealth's editor, said: ‘It's exciting to be working on a title seen by more people than Zest and Men's Health combined. benhealth's continued growth just goes to show how buoyant the customer magazine market is at the moment.
'We're even performing well against Holland & Barrett's customer magazine, Healthy, which is at the top of the women's health and beauty category with a circulation of 130,000.’
The magazine contains a broad range of health and wellbeing news, features and lifestyle advice. Recent issues have carried exclusive interviews with Jenny Agutter, Katherine Jenkins, Rav Wilding and world champion swimmer Mark Foster ahead of London 2012. Readers are also treated to benhealth’s resident columnist, Dr Phil Hammond, and his irreverent take on the world of healthcare. Members are kept up to date with the latest news regarding Benenden Healthcare Society and its services via a four-page central section, together.
Marc Bell, Marketing & Business Strategy Director at Benenden Healthcare said: ‘benhealth is recognised as a leading publication by its readership and the new direction the magazine has taken since 2009 has recently resulted in a shortlisting for Best Publication at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.’
‘We’re rightly proud of our publication and will continue to strive to make it the best possible read for our membership.’
