Society's magazine makes UK top 30
25th August 2011
benhealth, the magazine for members of Benenden Healthcare Society, has climbed to number 28 in the list of most widely distributed magazines in the UK, as certified by the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC).
Benenden Healthcare, a leading not-for-profit mutual health and wellbeing organisation, distributes benhealth four times a year to a total of 351,173 members.
Karin Mochan, benhealth's editor, said: ‘It's a real achievement to be performing so well alongside the competition. benhealth has the largest circulation of any health title in the latest ABC report and is in fact bigger than Men's Health and Zestcombined.
‘Since our redesign in September last year we've had some really positive feedback from readers, who tell us they rate benhealth highly – both as a good read and also as a trusted source of health information.
‘We make sure each issue is relevant, timely and informative, and packed with inspiring real-life stories as well as medical expertise.’
The magazine contains a broad range of health and wellbeing news, features and lifestyle advice. Recent editions have included interviews with Honor Blackman, Phil Vickery and Chris Tarrant, as well as the presenter of BBC 2’s One Man and His Camper Van and Dr Dawn Harper from Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies.
Readers are also treated to benhealth’s resident columnist, Dr Phil Hammond, and his irreverent take on the world of healthcare.
Members are kept up to date with the latest news regarding Benenden Healthcare Society and its services via a four-page central section, together.
Katy Pollard, from benhealth's editorial board, said: ‘We are continually reviewing the content of benhealth and listening to the views of our readers so that we can improve upon each edition and make it the choice of health and wellbeing reading for our members.’
