Benenden sponsors Christmas party for Children’s Heart Surgery Fund
12th December 2016
Leeds-based Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) held a special party for 220 children at the Royal Armouries Leeds – with support being provided by health and wellbeing provider Benenden.
Benenden, the York-based healthcare provider sponsored the party which brought together families from across the region for a fun-filled day of activities and entertainment.
Alongside an appearance from Santa Claus, a range of activities kept the children thoroughly entertained, including a balloon artist, glitter tattooing and face painting, a disco, bouncy castle, toddlers safe play area and walk around characters from popular fiction.
Paul Keenan, Group Head of Communications at Benenden said: “When we heard about the party CHSF were planning, we were really keen to get involved. It’s so important that these children who’ve been through so much enjoy their very own Christmas party – with a visit from Santa Claus!”
“The donation we’ve made is part of a programme of activity we run at Benenden to actively seek out small-scale grassroots community projects or activities to support through one-off donations or grants across the UK. The Leeds Children’s Heart Unit event seemed like a perfect project for us to help as part of this work. We really hope all the children and their families had a fantastic day!
Sharon Coyle, CEO at CHSF said: “Benenden have been extremely generous in helping us fund this year’s Christmas party which allowed us to make it that bit more special for all attendees. Our Christmas event is hugely important as it allows us to host a special day for the many children who have been helped by the unit while at the same time, celebrating the fundraising efforts of their families - our valued supporters.”
