20th December 2016
Staff fundraisers from Benenden in York have raised £4,153.57 this year for St Leonard’s Hospice.
Annie Keogh, Corporate Fundraiser at St Leonard’s Hospice met with representatives from the fundraising team today to receive the cheque, including two members of staff who have donned their Santa suits over the festive period to raise money for the charity.
Claire Hetherington, Communications Co-Ordinator from Benenden said: “The team have done amazingly this year, getting involved in lots of different ways, from the Accumulator Challenge, dragon boat racing, Midnight Walk and It’s A Knockout to dressing up as Santa!
“I’m really proud of everyone who’s been involved and all of the time and effort they’ve all put in for such a great cause. This year we’ve raised our highest ever amount for charities, £7,143.87, which just shows the level of support from staff.”
Annie Keogh, Corporate Fundraising Manager at St Leonard’s Hospice said: “What Benenden staff have achieved on our behalf this year is phenomenal, I’m blown away by the amount they’ve raised, we’ll be putting this towards the redevelopment of our Sunflower Centre garden, to make it fully accessible and enable us to bring the outside in, to add to everyone’s wellbeing.
“I’d really like to thank everyone at Benenden who got involved, giving up their personal time to raise money for people affected by a life limiting illness. We have a brilliant relationship with Benenden, and we hope to continue this next year.”
