Benenden staff volunteer to brighten up York play area
1st September 2016
Volunteers from Benenden spent a morning at York’s Broadstone Way play area making it safe and welcoming for young children to enjoy.
In one of a series of projects organised with employee volunteering organisation, York Cares, the team of Benenden volunteers broke out their paintbrushes and dusted off their shovels - taking time out of the office to help refresh the park area.
Activities included resurfacing the bark chip footpath and painting some of the play equipment. This work to improve the play area aims to encourage local families to get active and enjoy the outdoors.
Nicola Taylor, Communications Co-ordinator at Benenden said “This was a really enjoyable project for the team at Benenden to get involved in. Many of us have young children and we all know the importance of having a friendly, safe place for them to be able to play. Giving back to the community in this way ties in with our values as a health and wellbeing mutual and brings a smile to our faces as a team.”
