Art in Healthcare charity initiative supported by Benenden
10th April 2015
The health and wellbeing provider, Benenden, is supporting a Scottish charity project which aims to place artwork in hospital and care settings to help brighten the lives of patients.
Benenden will be sponsoring five pieces of artwork which will be displayed in the Craighall Day Centre in Edinburgh. The artwork has been sourced by Art in Healthcare - the leading arts provider for health organisations in Scotland, which aims to make contemporary art accessible to everyone in care settings.
Paul Keenan, Head of Communications at Benenden said, “When we heard about this initiative we were keen to be involved – being in a hospital or care environment can often be a scary time and it’s important for patients to feel as comfortable as possible.”
“We believe the work that Art in Healthcare undertakes helps create an environment that enhances the mental wellbeing of patients and contributes to their recuperation process. We are looking forward to seeing the artwork on display.”
Edinburgh-based Keegan & Pennykid, a subsidiary of Benenden have also supported the initiative. Five further pieces of artwork have been sponsored by them and these will also go on display at the Craighall Day Centre.
