Belfast Galaxy Trampoline Club given boost to achieve their goals!
18th November 2015
Belfast-based trampoline club, Belfast Galaxy, has received an early Christmas present from UK health and wellbeing provider, Benenden and Kingsbridge Private Hospital on Lisburn Road.
A donation of trampolining equipment is being made to the club which is based in the Grove Wellbeing and Ballysillan Leisure Centre. The club provides recreational and competitive opportunities for children aged 6 upwards to develop their trampolining and gymnastic skills.
Val Miskimmon, who sits on the Committee of Management at Benenden said: “Community is hugely important to us here at Benenden and we are always looking for opportunities to reach out to communities around the UK to assist with local health and wellbeing initiatives. The work that the Belfast Galaxy Trampolining Club does is a great example of this and when we heard about how hard they were working to fundraise we really wanted to help out.”
Denise Beagon at Belfast Galaxy Trampoline Club said, “We have grown rapidly in the last year and we now work with over 65 children in the local area. We really needed this new equipment to help develop the gymnasts and to give the children better opportunities to work on their skills.
“We’ve been fundraising for a while now in order to pay for the equipment, through cake sales and a sponsored bounce-a-thon. The support of the local community has been fantastic, and now, having the help of Benenden and Kingsbridge has made such a difference to how quickly we were able to reach our fundraising goal. The equipment will make such a difference to young people we work with and we’d like to thank Benenden and Kingsbridge for their support.”
The donation is part of a UK-wide programme run by Benenden to actively seek out small-scale grassroots community projects or activities to support through one-off donations or grants. In Belfast, the healthcare provider partnered up with their approved Hospital in the area, Kingsbridge Private Hospital to work together on supporting a local community project.
Mark Regan, Chief Executive of Kingsbridge Private Hospital said, “It’s been fantastic to work with Benenden on this project and to help a local community group who do really great work with developing young people’s skills. We hope that the children at the club enjoy the new equipment and we wish them every success for the future. ”
