Benenden health staff volunteer at Poppleton Community Railway Nursery

A team of staff from York-based health and wellbeing mutual organisation benenden health, have volunteered at local Poppleton Community Railway Nursery in a project organised by York Cares.
Staff came together on Wednesday August 7th to help with a range of gardening tasks at the local Railway Nursery – including laying new paths in the formal garden area.
The project assisted Poppleton Community Railway Nursery, Britain's last surviving Railway Nursery situated in Poppleton near York. The non-profit organisation work with local health agencies to offers volunteers recovering from mental health crises with opportunities to learn new skills and develop confidence and self-esteem.
Nicola Taylor Communications Co-ordinator, said: ‘‘The team really enjoyed getting involved in this project which will help to make a real difference. It’s great to know our efforts will help such a fantastic organisation as the Poppleton Community Railway Nursery - which has great links in the local community, helps volunteers develop key skills and offers a therapeutic outlet.”
