Benenden health welcomes Poppleton Tigers to York City Football Club
4th September 2013
The Poppleton Tigers Under 9s team will be heading to York City Football Club this week for a special party arranged by York-based mutual healthcare provider benenden health.
The team, who have their kit provided by benenden health, will also be donating their old branded shirts as part of the shirt swap initiative which saw hundreds of York City fans handing in old shirts in exchange for new ones earlier in the year. Old shirts will be donated to various charitable causes both in the UK and abroad.
benenden health, as main sponsors of York City Football Club, have arranged for a special party to take place at the Club where the Poppleton Tigers will hand over their old shirts and then enjoy a tour of the football ground, followed by fun football activities with coaches. All of the Tigers will be given a goody bag to take away.
Chris Dowson, Coach of the Poppleton Tigers team said: “The team is really excited about visiting the football stadium and getting to meet some of the players. It’ll be a great experience for all the children and we are also really happy to donate our old shirts so that these can benefit good causes.”
Paul Keenan, Head of Communications at benenden health said: “It’s great that the Poppleton Tigers are getting involved with our swap by donating their old shirts. When we rebranded we wanted to ensure that our old branded items were donated to charitable causes.
“The party at the Club will give the children something fun to reward them for donating their shirts. We do hope they enjoy their visit to the stadium – and learn some new skills which they can put into practice!”
