Charities receive benefit from benenden staff fundraising!
2nd February 2015
In 2014, staff at benenden health, the York-based health and wellbeing provider, raised over £2600 for local charity Yorkshire Air Ambulance and mental health charity, Mind.
The money was raised through a variety of internal and external fundraising events organised by staff – including a team in the Jane Tomlinson 10K Run For All, a charity football match with York City against the Emmerdale cast and crew and a variety of internal staff bake sales and competitions.
Claire Waines, Communications Co-ordinator at benenden said: “2014 was a great year of fundraising, helping to support two very worthwhile charities. The charities both work to raise awareness and funds for different health issues and as a health and wellbeing provider it’s been fantastic to support them as our appointed charities.”
For 2015, benenden’s charities once again have been chosen through a staff nomination process. For the next twelve months the organisation will support local charity St Leonard’s Hospice, which provides specialist palliative care and support for local people with life-threatening illnesses, and the national cancer charity Macmillan.
Claire continued “St Leonard’s Hospice is a charity we have supported in the past and was once again a very popular choice with our staff. The work they do, providing palliative care for local people is truly invaluable - we are proud to be working with them this year. We also look forward to supporting Macmillan as our national charity of the year – they play an important role in providing support to cancer sufferers and their families.
“Learning about the activities of our new charities has been inspirational and we are very much looking forward to working with both of these charities during the year ahead, helping them to make a difference.”
