Staff at Benenden Healthcare donate to The Press Toys and Tins Appeal
18 Dec 2012
Generous staff at Benenden Healthcare Society – the York-based mutual health & wellbeing organisation - have been helping to spread festive cheer this Christmas by donating to York’s The Press Toys & Tins Appeal.
The Press once again appealed for donations of unwanted toys and tins of food to brighten up Christmas for some of York’s most vulnerable residents. The items collected will go to three local causes: York’s Women’s Aid Refuge, the Salvation Army and York Carers Centre.
Staff at Benenden Healthcare were invited to bring in items to donate as part of a wider ‘Giving the Gift’ campaign which has seen staff donating food to York Foodbank, volunteering in the local community and making a donation of teddy bears to charities and schools across the UK.
Amy Goodman, Media Relations Executive said: ‘The Press Toys and Tins Appeal is a fantastic cause and one which really makes a difference to so many people in the local York area. We’ve had a huge amount of donations from staff who have really got behind the cause and we are delighted to be able to help bring some festive cheer to local people who are in need this Christmas.’
