The Benenden Health team donate to The Press Toys and Tins Appeal
18th December 2014
The team at Benenden Health, the York-based mutual healthcare provider, have been helping to spread festive cheer this Christmas by donating to York’s The Press Toys & Tins Appeal.
The Press once again appealed for donations of unwanted toys and tins of food to brighten up Christmas for some of York’s most vulnerable residents. The items collected will go to two local causes: the Salvation Army and the Independent Domestic Abuse Services.
Claire Waines, Communications Co-ordinator at Benenden said, “We’ve taken part in The Press’s Toys and Tins Appeal for several years. Each year we collect in a fantastic bundle of goodies to help support the beneficiaries of the Independent Domestic Abuse Services and the Salvation Army at Christmas time.
“This year was no exception and in a twist on the traditional method of Santa giving out presents, we set up a grotto in our office last Friday where employees could make their donations to the appeal to be put in Santa’s sack. This was part of a wider Christmas fundraising day in our office in aid of our charities of the year, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Mind.
“We’d like to wish the beneficiaries of the Independent Domestic Abuse Services and the Salvation Army our very best wishes for Christmas and hope that the donations make a big difference.”
