Benenden Chief Exec discusses our pledges with international mutual sector
5th October 2015
Marc Bell, CEO of Benenden, will address a global gathering of cooperative and mutual insurance leaders as part of a four-day international conference in Minneapolis, this week (6th October).
The conference has been organised by the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) - the trade association for mutual and cooperatives insurers around the world, which UK health and wellbeing provider Benenden are a member of.
Speaking as he left for the USA, Marc Bell said:
“This year’s conference theme of ‘more than insurance’ is one which really resonates with how we operate at Benenden. As a mutual our 900,000 members are at the heart of everything we do – whether that’s introducing new products and services or investing in the re-development of our hospital facilities.
“More than 25 million people in the UK are members of a mutual in the UK and they make a significant contribution to economies across the globe. This year’s conference will celebrate that fact and I look forward to sharing our successes with other international co-operatives.
“Presenting at the conference provides me with an opportunity to highlight the leading role that Benenden has taken to promote the value of mutuals to the UK healthcare system helping to meet the challenges of an ageing population and the funding constraints of the NHS”.
