Benenden’s Chief Executive speaks at bi-annual meeting of International mutuals
23rd June 2015
York-based Benenden’s Chief Executive, Marc Bell, is talking today (23 June) at a meeting of European mutuals in Liege, Belgium.
He will give a presentation to the meeting of AIM, the umbrella organisation of all health mutuals in Europe; its members invited Marc Bell to give a talk on mutuality in the United Kingdom, taking Benenden as an example.
Speaking about the event, Marc Bell said “This event is the chance to give a background on our unique form of organisation at EU level but also to inform our mutual partners in Europe about what happens in the mutual and healthcare world in the UK. This will enable us to showcase how Benenden reinforces mutuality in the United Kingdom and the role we believe we can play in the future of UK healthcare.”
Benenden is fully engaged at AIM to make sure mutuals across Europe and especially in the UK enjoy the best possible conditions to provide solidarity-based and sustainable health coverage.
“I’m thrilled to have been invited to present at this year’s events and hope that we will come up with innovative ideas to further promote mutuals in Europe.”
The three-day event is organised by AIM* (the International Association of Mutuality) and will see health CEOs from across Europe working with those from, Africa and Latin America as well as stakeholders and officials from the European Commission.
*AIM has 61 members in 27 countries providing healthcare coverage to 160 million citizens of Europe. The events are being hosted by the Socialist Mutual Solidaris in Liège, Belgium.
