Staff volunteers from Benenden spent the morning of 15th March on a return trip to Broadstone Way play area continuing their work to make it a welcoming area for young children to play.
As part of their ongoing voluntary work with York Cares, the staff volunteers opted to go back to Broadstone Way play area to continue to improve the facilities they helped to make safe when they visited last summer.
The team donned their wet weather gear and picked up their shears and secateurs for a morning of pruning back hedges, bushes and clearing overgrowth.
Nicola Taylor, Communications Co-ordinator at Benenden said: “It’s been really great for the team to come back to Broadstone Way park to complete more work, and to see the fruits of our earlier labour. It was lovely to see the play area we helped to make safe last year in use by young children and their families. Helping out in our local community gives us all a great sense of achievement, and really ties in with our values as a health and wellbeing mutual.”
