Junior Data Scientist

Benenden Health have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with academic or workplace experience of researching, analysis and problem solving to train as a Junior Data Scientist (JDS). The JDS will help the Society to gain a better understanding of members and operations whilst improving experience and performance. This exciting role offers an opportunity to undertake fulfilling and challenging work whilst learning the full spectrum of skills you need to work as a Data Scientist.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Learning data science programming and coding to manipulate data and create high quality and understandable visualisations
  • Undertaking and designing your own analysis solutions to organisational questions
  • Communicating the value of different analysis and techniques to colleagues
  • Participating in core and exploratory analysis, learning from your colleagues and independently to expand organisational capabilities
  • Collaborating with the business to design and build data models which will be the foundation of data science at Benenden Health
  • Use your problem-solving skills to analyse business data to find new insight to assist the organisation to improve its operations
  • Work with the Business Intelligence and IT teams to maintain existing data and unearth new data availability and understanding
  • Produce bespoke reports and presentations on a variety of topics
  • Manage the regular data science provision to give the organisation both high level and quick views of data through a data science lens

The Society’s Data Science Function is continuously expanding organisational knowledge and influencing changes. You’ll be working with Data Architects, BI Developers and non-IT colleagues to provide valuable intelligence for the business to use.
