As the Telephone Sales Team Manager, you will be managing a team of Business Development Executives (BDE’s) based in York. You will be tasked with managing the team’s productivity, performance and sales by driving corporate healthcare sales over the phone. You must be a dynamic and a strategic Manager who can mentor the sales team and help ensure the company continues to hit their growth targets.

 The post holder will:

  • Be responsible for day-to-day management of the Business Development Executives (BDE’s) to ensure they are identifying opportunities and following up new business leads, nurturing them through the sales in line with the organisations T&C regime.
  • Have effective management that will demonstrate maximum commercial value is being achieved by the BDE’s.
  • Ensure clear and relevant reporting, monitoring usage, financial transaction and analysing of key information is understood to help with persistency, growth on existing accounts and closing of new account deals.
  • Upkeep of relevant internal systems, Salesforce (CRM) and other sales and marketing support tools.
  • Understand competitor activity and external environment to ascertain how to change and adapt to ensure Benenden Health products are always at the forefront for consideration.
  • Put forward ideas and recommendations for options to improve/or protect our position in the marketplace.
  • Work cross functionally to identify the potential for improvement increasing business opportunities and efficiencies through system and procedure enhancements.

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven track record in leading a telephone sales, Telesales or telemarketing team, ideally within a corporate environment.
  • Experience of people and performance management in line with company policies and procedures (recruitment, PDR, absence management, disciplinary meetings, etc).
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering sales in line with targets, to plan and to budget
  • Strong track record in sales methodology and pipeline management.
  • Experience of incident management and business continuity
  • Experience in capacity planning within a call centre environment
  • Experience of creating and implementing quality programmes, integrating any regulatory requirements.
