Society Matron

An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Benenden Health in York; we are recruiting for a Society Matron. Benenden Health is looking for dynamic, established senior nurse leader who can provide a clinical presence within the Society and guidance on healthcare direction. This role reports directly into the Clinical Director and will work closely with the Matrons based at the Benenden Hospital Trust in Kent.

The Society Matron will be responsible for the complete members journey and experience from a clinical perspective, ensuring that care is delivered to a high standard. The Society Matron will also be responsible for maintaining the Directory of Society Services. They will be required to ensure standards of clinical governance, are maintained whilst continually looking to review and improve on clinical systems and processes. The Society Matron will be visible, approachable and accessible across the Benenden Health and to our members.

We are keen to hear from candidates who can actively demonstrate their experience, skills and capability in:

  • Governance, regulation and compliance with oversight of our network of network of treatment facilities ensuring compliance with CQC standards and other appropriate bodies such as NICE.
  • To be able to support the strategic direction of Benenden Health and give guidance and direction on service developments and product initiatives.
  • A minimum of 6 years senior experience in healthcare
  • Extensive experience of developing and managing various relationships at a senior level.
  • A Registered Nurse (RN) with a degree in nursing or a health related subject.
  • ENB 998 Qualification or equivalent and previous experience of coaching/mentoring.
  • Decision making on complex clinical cases.
Full Time Permanent


£56,500 - £68,000 (8C)

Hours of Work 

37.5 hours per week typically Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend working
