Spending more time at home can make it far too easy to reach into the cupboard for a sugary snack, when you’re in need of an afternoon pick-me-up. But do you know which foods you should be choosing? Have a go at our quiz to test your knowledge!

In a survey of 2,000 British adults, we have discovered that as much as 44 percent of people don’t know what their daily calorie intake should be. From sugar to salt, the survey reveals that a whole host of Brits are oblivious to the daily recommendations advised by the World Health Organisation.

Some of the key takeaways include:

  • Less than half of all male respondents know how many calories they should be limiting themselves to each day.

  • 51 percent of 45+ year old respondents admit to not knowing how many calories they should eat each day.

  • More than two-thirds of 18-24 year olds surveyed say they do know how many calories they should be consuming day-to-day.

  • 83 percent of people do not know what their recommended daily allowance of sugar is.

  • Over 77 percent of respondents do not know what their recommended daily intake of salt is.

  • 45 percent of overall respondents do not know the difference between natural and refined sugar.
