At this year’s Sunday Times Best Companies awards, it was announced that Benenden Health had secured 45th place in the Not-For-Profit category. Now nationally recognised as one of the top 50 not-for-profits in the country to work for, this is an outstanding achievement. We have been celebrated alongside other big UK not-for-profits, such as Great Ormond Street Children's Charity, the National Trust and Chester Zoo.
Team Benenden were thrilled on the night to see that our score has improved by 17 places, jumping from 62 to 45 in just one year.
“This is a fantastic achievement and just reflects the positive culture change we have been on as an organisation,” says Benenden Health CEO, Bob Andrews.
“The Best Companies Awards shine a light on some of the best in the UK and it is testament to our colleagues that we are included in these prestigious lists.”
The Best Companies awards celebrates engaged workplaces and the innovative ways that businesses can support staff engagement. Benenden Health was commended by Best Companies for our commitment to staff wellness by offering staff physical and mental health support, as well as access to an on-site gym. Our charity work in York throughout the year was also commended. Learn more about our colleagues experiences volunteering for the environment and raising awareness of mental health issues.
On the night of the awards, colleagues from across the business were invited to accept the honour. These colleagues were those who have been recognised for embodying one of our key values – Be Brave, Be Smart, Be Connected and Be Caring. Rewarding our people for living our values is another way that we encourage engagement at Benenden Health.
