  • Access to the SkinVision app is subject to the separate terms and privacy policy of the provider, SkinVision B.V. (a company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands).   • To register on and use the SkinVision app you must be at least 18 years old. The SkinVision service is not intended for use on children.

  • To sign up and access SkinVision, you will need to provide personal data including your first and last name, date of birth, and email address. Please read Section 2 of the SkinVision Privacy Policy.

  • SkinVision will share no personal data with Benenden Health. For full information on how SkinVision use your personal data and keep it secure, please see SkinVision Privacy Policy.

  • A unique identifier linked to your Benenden Health membership will be shared with SkinVision when you download the app and create your account, in order to provide access to the services. This unique identifier may also be used to end your SkinVision subscription should your Benenden Health membership end. No personal data will be shared by Benenden Health or SkinVision in providing this unique identifier.

  • If you experience any issues with the SkinVision app, you may contact the SkinVision support team directly via the 'contact us' button within the app or on their website.

  • Benenden Health recognises the importance of protecting personal and confidential information in all that we do. We take care to meet our legal duties, and we put in place all reasonable technical, security and procedural controls required to protect your personal information for the whole of its life, in whatever format we hold that information in.   • As a Benenden Health member, you will continue to have full access to the SkinVision app, including the ability to take new readings and view previous reports, for as long as your membership remains active, or until we notify you otherwise. Disclaimer: Any results obtained through use of the SkinVision service that identify potentially concerning skin spots do not automatically qualify members for Diagnostic or Treatment services offered by Benenden Health as part of their membership. Disclaimer: SkinVision may flag a mole or skin spot as high-risk and indicate that you should consult a medical professional. It is recommended that you speak with your regular GP to discuss the outcome and any necessary follow-up.

Benenden Health's 24/7 GP Service can be used to discuss your symptoms and receive general advice, but it cannot review your SkinVision report or provide a referral to a Dermatologist.

How to access the SkinVision app

  • Log into the Benenden Health app and select 'Check your skin'

  • Read the overview and important information to learn more about SkinVision

  • Download the SkinVision app and create your account

  • Start your first skin check right away and use it as often as you need

  • After each check, you'll receive an immediate risk assessment result and if needed a dermatologist will perform a further quality check  within 48 hours.

Downloading the App

To activate your free access as a Benenden Health member, simply download the SkinVision app through the Health Toolkit section of the Benenden Health app.

Tap 'Check your skin', follow the link to learn how it works, then hit ‘Get Started’ to download the app. Once installed, you’ll find it on your device like any other app. From there, you can continue using the SkinVision app directly or access it via the Benenden Health app – whichever suits you best.

Important: To begin using SkinVision , you must download the app via the Benenden Health app. Once installed, open the SkinVision app through the Benenden Health app to complete your registration. This step ensures your account is correctly linked to your Benenden membership, providing you with free access. If you download the SkinVision app directly from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you won’t be able to access the service free of charge and you may be prompted to pay a fee.

How to perform a skin check

Open the SkinVision app. On the home screen, select the body area you want to assess. Select 'Add spot' and follow the on-screen instructions.

Simply use your smartphone to take a clear photo of the mole or skin spot you want to assess. The process takes around 60 seconds and can be done anytime, anywhere.

It’s recommended to check your skin regularly – especially if you notice changes in the size, shape, or colour of moles or spots.

After each check, you’ll receive an immediate risk assessment. SkinVision AI and in some cases a team of dermatologists will review your image. You will receive a communication to let you know what happens next and you’ll receive a final risk assessment report and guidance within 48 hours.
