We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. You can view a list of issues we currently know about in the non-accessible content section.
You can change the way this website looks to suit your needs. The settings available differ from browser to browser, but most browsers offer some or all of the following:
Text size
If you find the text on this site is too small, you can change it in your browser settings.
In Google Chrome, go to the Settings menu, select 'Appearance' and find the appropriate drop-down for the Font size setting.
In Microsoft Edge, go to the Settings menu and select 'Accessibility' and set your desired 'Zoom' level.
You can also increase the text size by using your keyboard, pressing 'Ctrl' and '+' at the same time.
Images
Where appropriate, images on this site are accompanied by a brief alternative text which describes the image or its function. This alternative text (ALT text) is generally visible only when the browser's automatic image loading feature is turned off.
All content images used in this site include descriptive alternative text. Those in purely decorative graphics or used for layout include null ALT attributes.
Keyboard navigation
You can browse our website using your keyboard.
Press the tab key to access the 'Skip to content' accessibility link and keep pressing it to move through the main navigation links.
Press the Enter key to 'click' on text links and/or buttons as necessary.
We review our website on a regular basis using an automated accessibility auditing software and address issues in order of importance. We also follow best practice in relation to creating accessible PDFs.
Our site is partially compliant with the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines at level AA. See https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/.
We are aware of some accessibility issues with our site, in particular the following:
Header nesting
There are pages throughout the site that do not have sufficient heading structures, making these pages harder to navigate for some users. This relates to WCAG 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (AA).
Tables
There are tables throughout the site that do not have sufficient attributes, making the table data harder to navigate for some users. This relates to WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
Some data tables that contain both row and column headers don't use the scope attribute, or id and headers, to identify cells. This related to WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
Some data tables don't contain caption elements. This relates to WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
Other issues
Some pieces of text are formatted using lists but not represented as true lists which means content may not be identified consistently. This is related to WCAG 3.2.4 Consistent Identification (AA).
Some of the information on our website is in Portable Document Format (PDF), such as our Guide and our Rulebook. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read PDF files. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded free of charge.
We're aware PDF documents are not inherently accessible as HTML pages. We've recently updated our guidelines for creating PDF's that follows best practice.
