Cheryl Lythgoe PhD MSc joined Benenden Health in December 2018 following 15 years working in primary care.

Cheryl is a Nurse Consultant who has a wealth of experience in diagnosing and treating Common medical conditions.  During her years in Primary Care, Cheryl also managed large multi-disciplinary teams, providing training, education, peer support and clinical guidance. Additionally, she has worked alongside locality decision boards and general practice providers to meet the challenges set by the Department of Health and Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Building on her clinical expertise, Cheryl has also undertaken a PhD, through University of York, on the subject of recruitment into General Practice. This qualitative study highlighted how tribal language can affect a clinician’s professional identity and combined with other factors can create recruitment and retention challenges.

In addition, Cheryl is an accomplished public speaker and skilled presenter on medical matters. She often represents Benenden Health at industry events. She also runs regular webinars on various health subjects for our members and corporate clients. Some of Cheryl’s recent talks include promoting our Gender Health Gap campaign at NEC Birmingham and advocating supporting student nurses at national professional event ran by Royal College of Nursing (RCN).

Cheryl has been invaluable at Benenden Health, using her experience and expertise to support day-to-day operations, content quality and our public relations campaigns. She always adopts a positive, collaborative approach to achieve the very highest standards of clinical service provision.
