Summer snacks under 120 calories


Celebrating 120 years of Benenden Health, we've created something special just for you. To mark this milestone, we're sharing a collection of refreshing summer treats, each under 120 calories.

From creamy beetroot hummus and zesty tzatziki to tropical mango sorbet ice pops and protein-packed mango yoghurt bites, these recipes are perfect for picnics, BBQs, or simply soaking up the sunshine. Because looking after your health should always be delicious and fun.


Beetroot hummus

Vibrant, creamy, and packed with earthy sweetness. This beetroot hummus is a deliciously nutritious twist on a classic dip with just 91 calories per serving.

  • Roughly chop 250g of cooked beetroot.

  • Whizz the beetroot, a 400g tin of chickpeas, 1 garlic clove, 2tsp lemon juice, 1tsp ground cumin, 1tsp ground coriander, salt and pepper and 100ml olive oil.

To serve: with sourdough and a drizzle of tahini.


Mango sorbet icepops

Cool, refreshing, and bursting with tropical sweetness, these mango sorbet icepops deliver all the flavor with just 63 calories, a perfect light and fruity treat for summer.

  • Place 450g frozen mango, 150ml water, zest and juice of one lime and 1tsp of maple syrup into a blender and blend until smooth.

  • Pour mixture into popsicle molds.

  • Freeze for at least four hours before enjoying!


Simple tzatziki

With its cool, creamy texture and refreshing blend of cucumber and garlic, this simple tzatziki is a light and flavorful dip with only 55 calories per serving.

  • Grate half a cucumber and sprinkle with 1/4tsp of salt then set aside for the cucumbers to release their juices whilst you prep the remaining ingredients. 

  • Add 250ml yoghurt, 1tbsp lemon juice, 1/2tbsp olive oil, 1 crushed clove of garlic, 1tbsp chopped dill and 1tbsp chopped mint in a medium sized bowl.

  • Add cucumber to bowl and chill until ready to service.

To serve: delicious on naan bread or as a dip with carrots.


Mango yoghurt protein frozen bites

Creamy, fruity, and packed with protein, these mango yoghurt frozen bites are a deliciously refreshing snack with only 85 calories per serving.

  • Combine 175g frozen mango, 120g fat-free greek yoghurt and a scoop of protein powder.

  • Scoop out eight bite-size scoops on a sheet of parchment paper.

  • Place into the freezer for a minimum of two hours.
