With the right support, neurodivergent or disabled people from all walks of life can thrive. But how do you know where to find that right support?
Our new neurodiversity and disability advice service puts you in touch with an adviser who can help offer clear signposting, compassionate support and guidance – whether you have a diagnosis or not.
We could all find ourselves in a situation where our abilities have changed. Some disabilities, like visual or hearing difficulties, are relatively well understood. Others, including neurodivergent conditions like ADHD, are only recently getting the attention they need.
With so many different conditions, it can be confusing trying to find advice that’s tailored to your specific needs.
That's why, with this service, you can speak to one of our friendly, impartial advisers who will answer any questions you have. You can ask for advice for yourself, your partner, your children or your parents and your partner's parents – even if they're not members.
We can offer support for a really wide range of different conditions. We’ve listed some of the most common types below, but this is just a brief overview:
Neurodivergence (including autism and ADHD).
Specific learning differences (SpLD), including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and dysgraphia.
Physical disabilities, such as muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, blindness or visual impairment, and deafness or hearing impairment.
Anxiety disorders or obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD).
Speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
And for all of these, we can offer advice on wider questions, such as:
guidance on the condition in question
help with accessing services, education, and employment
clear explanations of legal rights, funding options, benefits, and entitlements
understanding your rights (including employment rights) if you’re a parent of a child needing care
"Benenden Health was very easy to contact, sympathetic and knowledgeable on the phone and my problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
I would thoroughly recommend Benenden Health membership."

Since this is an advice service, it doesn't offer more than advice – so we can't arrange or fund diagnoses or care.

If we can help, we'll arrange the first call with an adviser who’ll work to understand your needs and talk through your next steps.
Calls to 03 numbers from UK landlines and mobiles cost no more than a national rate call to 01 or 02 numbers. If you receive inclusive free calls to 01 or 02 numbers with your landline or mobile tariff, calls to 03 numbers will also be included.
