Benenden Health served members record amount in 2024

The affordable private healthcare provider shares 4.2% year-on-year rise in member support last year.

Not-for-profit, affordable healthcare provider Benenden Health supported its members' health and wellbeing needs 180,451 times in 2024, rising 4.2% from 2023 (173,079) and reporting a record-breaking year for service to members.

Benenden Health has over 870,000 members across the UK, making it the UK's leading private healthcare provider by way of covering more consumer lives than any other private provider in the country.

Benenden Health also shared that the number of appointments booked for its GP 24/7 service rose 12% from 2023. Physiotherapy appointments increased by 3% year-on-year, and calls to its 24/7 Mental Health Helpline rose by 1%.

These findings follow Benenden Health's research into the population's attitude towards private healthcare, which found 86% of respondents are concerned about current NHS wait times. The healthcare provider also found that almost a quarter (24%) of respondents said the current state of the NHS has increased the likelihood of them purchasing private healthcare.

Benenden Health also ranks as the most trusted private healthcare provider on Trustpilot with a score of 4.6/5. It also scored 8/10 in a recent member satisfaction survey and won 'Best Private Healthcare Provider’ at the Moneyfactscompare.co.uk awards this year, which is voted on by private healthcare consumers in the UK. The healthcare provider also won 'Best Claims Service’ from the same awarding body.
