Keegan & Pennykid with parent company Benenden is the top sponsor for a black tie dinner with six time Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy on Thursday 24 September at the Sheraton Grand in Edinburgh in aid of SAMH, Scotland’s leading mental health charity.
Keegan & Pennykid, which provides insurance and financial advice to a range of businesses, charities and voluntary organisations are long-term supporters of SAMH and have worked professionally with the charity for over 32 years.
Funds raised on the night will go towards SAMH’s work across Scotland, including the charities employment services. Currently 79% of people with significant mental health problems are unemployed and SAMH wants to increase the number of opportunities for individuals with mental health problems to gain and retain work.
Jo Anderson, SAMH Director of External Affairs said: “We are extremely grateful that Keegan & Pennykid have chosen to be our title sponsor at this year’s event. Joining us on the evening are many other employers who, like Keegan and Pennykid, believe mental health is an important cause. Gaining employment can be an important part of an individual’s recovery and many people with mental health problems want to work but face the highest unemployment rates in Scotland.”
“Our partnerships with employers across Scotland are vital in helping us continue to build and improve the range of services we provide to support people in all aspects of recovery relating to mental health.”
Ken Pennykid, Managing Director of Keegan & Pennykid said: “Keegan & Pennykid (Insurance Brokers) Ltd and our parent organisation, Benenden are proud to be sponsoring An Evening with Sir Chris Hoy. We have long supported SAMH’s work and as such appreciate the immense value that the organisation brings to individuals, families, workplaces and communities in supporting and raising awareness of mental health.”
